Transformation Update #20 (01/03/2022)

Dear Vermont State Colleges Community,

Welcome to 2022 and best wishes for a happy and healthy year ahead!

Our regular updates to you throughout the Transformation process can currently be found on the VSCS website at https://www.vsc.edu/transformation/.  However, while not yet complete, the new transformation microsite is now live at https://transformation.vsc.edu/.

New Transformation Website

The new transformation website (https://transformation.vsc.edu/) continues to be a work in progress but you can check it out.  Once the site is fully populated, it will replace the existing site.  Past transformation updates are available under the “News and Updates” tab on the new site and are searchable so you can locate information relevant to a specific topic, either by searching for the term or clicking on the “topics” listed in the column on the right of the screen.  Moving forward, project transformation team-specific information will be posted directly to the website.  The Academic Operations and Student Experience teams’ information is located under the “Creating Vermont State University” tab.  Administrative Operations and Workforce Development teams have their own tabs on the ribbon as these teams cover both Vermont State University and the Community College of Vermont. If you have feedback or suggestions related to the new microsite, please submit them to chancellor@vsc.edu.

Requests for Proposals

As shared in our previous transformation updates, we have been working on two requests for proposals to support the transformation roadmap around both our Colleague and Slate systems.  These are core systems that support some of our most critical business functions.  We want to thank those stakeholders in our community that participated in the presentations and reviewed the proposals.  The key focus of the work is on supporting business process review, system changes, and ensuring a sustainable system roadmap.  We are happy to share news that partners have been selected and we will be diving into this work very quickly.  If you have any questions about this work, please feel free to reach out to Kellie Campbell, our Chief Information Officer at kellie.campbell@vsc.edu.

In addition, the Vermont State Colleges System recently engaged Maguire Associates from Massachusetts to assist the system with the development of new pricing model(s) that will be effective for the 2022-2023 academic year.  The models will balance student affordability while maximizing net student revenue.  Maguire Associates will recommend models for pricing, conduct market analysis, and make recommendations regarding ongoing process and data collection.  Maguire Associates are expected to complete their work by April 2022.

Recent VSC Job Postings

The Vermont State Colleges System is looking to fill a communications position and a variety of information technology positions, including a Communication Assistant and Staff Writer, a Technical Project/Systems Analyst, a Local Area Network/System Administrator, an Institutional Data Analyst, and a Learning Spaces Technology Specialist.  If you or someone you know is interested in these or any other open positions across the system, further information is available at https://www.vsc.edu/employee-resources/job-postings/.
