Academic Programs

The Academic Programs transformation initiative is designed to provide leadership, expertise, and coordination for the design and development of all elements of the academic experience for students who will attend Vermont State University. Staff, faculty, and administrators from across the VSC system are engaged in a Core Team and Sub-Teams leading the work to define and implement academic programs, schedules, catalogs, library services, and the systems that support these people, programs, processes, and activities.

The purpose of this team is to define and recommend how we provide the academic learning experience, as well as student academic programming across all functional areas that interact with students as part of their learning.

Goals and Priorities Include:

  • Students and prospective students will be at the center of how we think about our offerings, access, and learning.
  • Create programming and services designed to close gaps based on student types and demographic differences.
  • We will engage in discovery and design, thinking big, with an eye towards innovative, evidence-based best practices (internal and external).
  • The programs, processes, practices, and culture we develop will serve as the foundation for our future and align with our mission and vision.
