ERP Assessment FAQ

What is ERP?

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems integrate various business processes and functions into one software platform designed to improve efficiency, collaboration, and decision-making within organizations. The Vermont State Colleges has used Ellucian Colleague as our ERP for over 20 years.

What is the assessment?

The scope of the assessment is focused on a comprehensive review of the current state of our ERP, including connected software systems, and a recommendation for our ERP Roadmap. The assessment is not a commitment to change or move away from our ERP system but an investigation of our current state and today’s technology marketplace to understand the opportunities we have to position ourselves for the future.

What are connected software systems?

They are systems that are integrated with or use data from our ERP, Ellucian Colleague. Examples of connected systems include Canvas, Aviso, UKG, and Ad Astra. The assessment will include a review of the entire portfolio of ERP and connected systems.

How can I give feedback?

If you weren’t interviewed but would like to give feedback, we have developed a survey to capture your thoughts. Please reach out to Meg Walz for a link to the survey.

What is the timeline?

The assessment is planned to last throughout Fall 2023, with final deliverables due to VSC in the new year. Ferrilli will gather data for the current state discovery in October and November. The findings will be presented to stakeholders and VSC communities in early 2024.
