We are pleased to announce three Vermont State University leadership appointments. Look for more coming in the next week, as we finalize the remaining VTSU leadership positions!
Jayshree Bhat will be the Associate Vice President of Workforce, Community, and Economic Development and will start December 12. She most recently held the role of AVP of Professional Education & Workforce Development at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. There she cultivated effective partnerships with private, government, and nonprofit sectors during the development of innovative training programs to support workforce and community and economic development needs.
Lindsey Melo begins her role as Assistant Vice President of People and Culture on December 12. She comes to VTSU from The University of Vermont Medical Center where her most recent position was Interim Manager, Employee and Labor Relations. She is an established Human Resource professional who will bring her philosophy of positive employee relations to Vermont State. She also has worked in an HR department that moved to a shared service model.
Mari Perez is the new Assistant Vice President of Sponsored Programs and will begin December 5. She has worked in research administration at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), most recently in the role of Research Liaison Officer. Her 10 years of experience in Research Administration at UTRGV will help us build a strong foundation in research and grants
