About VSC Vision 2030
Every Vermonter should be able to access high-quality higher education, regardless of their income or location. To achieve this, we must focus on being more affordable and accessible. VSC Vision 2030 is anchored on two pillars for student success: Affordability and Accessibility. Both of these pillars are underpinned by a critical measure of institutional success, Enrollment:
- Affordability: Ensuring education and training is within reach for all families through a blend of funding and strategic optimization of our facilities, programs, and administrative resources.
- Accessibility: Providing diverse programs and flexible learning options tailored to individual, community, and economic needs, and continually evaluating our offerings to ensure they align with Vermont’s evolving demands.
- Enrollment: Fostering a robust and engaged student body by enhancing our outreach and supports to attract and retain students, including successfully reaching Vermonters who are currently forgoing higher education.
These pillars align seamlessly with the objectives set forth in the mission statement of VSC:
for the benefit of Vermont, the Vermont State Colleges system provides affordable, high quality, student-centered, and accessible education, fully integrating professional, liberal, and career study, consistent with student aspirations and regional and state needs.
Each pillar must be deeply integrated into all aspects of our work, driving toward the overarching goal of making higher education, training and certificate programs possible for all Vermonters.
