Vermont Legislative Partnerships and Support

The purpose of this project is to design and implement initiatives to enhance State partnerships and support by developing and implementing an advocacy strategy that secures sustained and/or increased funding from the Vermont State Legislature, underwriting costs for students and increasing institutional stability. As part of this work, we will:

  1. Identify and recommend long-term advocacy strategies, to be reviewed and approved by the VSC Chancellor, aimed at sustaining and increasing state support for infrastructure, operations, and future growth opportunities (e.g., affordability, accessibility, quality, relevance).
  2. Develop and present projects and proposals designed to secure continued and increased state support for VSC, for formal consideration and approval by the VSC Chancellor.
  3. Continue to build trust and confidence in VSC leadership among State and legislative leaders, including the new class of legislators, under the guidance and direction of the VSC Chancellor.
  4. Review and report progress on strategies employed during the current legislative cycle, with recommendations for further action to be approved by the VSC Chancellor.
  5. Implement strategies as approved by the VSC Chancellor, ensuring alignment with the Chancellor’s vision and tactical direction.
